Jackie O has announced that Gwyneth Paltrow is joining her for a big chat

Radio Queen Jackie O has revealed how she managed to get one of the most famous women in the world to join her in Australia.

Jackie O Henderson has done the unthinkable and managed to lure Gwyneth Paltrow to Australia.

The incredibly successful radio host yesterday announced a new business called Besties she has started with her real-life best mate Gemma O’Neill.

It aims to be a space where best friends come together for exclusive speaker events, private holidays and luxury products.

To kick things off with a bang, or in this case with the scent of a vagina candle, Henderson recruited Paltrow.

Yes, Paltrow – the Oscar-winner who sold a candle featuring the rather unusual name This Smells Like My Vagina and brought the term ‘consciously uncoupling’ into the mainstream.

The pair will have a candid conversation, and yes, all the besties are invited to attend.

It’s a big leap for Henderson, who usually turns down opportunities, let alone creates them for herself – but she explains that this project was too good to pass up.

“It is the first thing that has ever made sense,” she said.

Paltrow was first on her list when she decided to do a candid chat series without her usual partner in crime Kyle Sandilands.

They previously met in New York after Henderson successfully bid at an auction to have dinner with the Oscar winner.

Henderson was taken aback with how “normal and honest” Paltrow had come across at their dinner.

“She spoke so candidly about her family and everything. There was no wall up that is why I wanted her as our first guest. She can’t help but be honest,” Henderson told news.com.au.

Henderson explains that despite what you might read about Paltrow being out of touch, she also has a “great sense of humour,” and has so much advice to offer to women looking to build a brand or even just build themselves up.

Over the coarse of her successful career, Henderson’s always been very careful about what she aligns her brand with.

Sure there was the infamous sponsorship with WW, formally known as Weight Watchers, and even though she describes the experience with the team as “wonderful,” it did thrust her weight into the spotlight in a way she couldn’t have fully predicted.

It is one thing to talk about your weight and it is an entirely other thing to be defined by it and ultimately it is what made her pull the plug.

“I am tired of the constant narrative around it. Every time my name is mentioned, it is now always to do with weight,” she said.

Of course, she understands the interest but she’s ready to move forward now and Besties gives her a chance to define herself outside of the airwaves and far away from her dress size.

Henderson’s heart is in this venture because it is about celebrating the importance of friendship. It’s a topic that Henderson feels particularly inspired by.

While both women have co-founded the business, Henderson will work as the creative director while Ms O’Neill holds the position of CEO. Ms O’Neill also has her own management and production company called the Gemmie Agency.

When Henderson announced her business venture with Ms O’Neill she was quick to point out they had been through everything together.

They’d survived marriages, children and various life stages and had come out the other side laughing alongside each other.

So what makes a perfect friend to Henderson?

“Being non-judgmental, I’ve been that way with my friends. It is understanding that you might make mistakes but if even if you do, I’m still here for you.”

Oh and it doesn’t hurt if your name is Gwyneth Paltrow too.
