Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster enjoyed double dates together with their respective partners before they became an item themselves, it has been reported.
While the pair were starring together in Meredith Wilson’s musical on Broadway from December 2021 until January 2023, they struck up a close bond.
Now, an insider has revealed that Jackman and his ex-wife, Deborra-lee Furness, would enjoy date nights together with Foster and her ex-husband, Ted Griffin.

The source also told Daily Mail that after every performance of their show together the pair would share an “uncomfortably” long embrace in front of everyone.
“It was odd,” they continued. “In a way it was uncomfortable. As the entire cast is trying to get to their dressing rooms upstairs, we all had to pass the two of them hugging. They didn’t even hide it! It was a long embrace … and it was weird.”
The insider went on to suggest that Foster’s behaviour came across as “needy” to others behind the scenes.
“I thought she was just a needy actress,” they said. “That’s the way it appeared to me - the needy actress needed the hug from the big superman.”
Meanwhile, it comes after Jackman and Foster finally confirmed their relationship after being pictured holding hands and kissing.
Jackman and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness announced their separation after 27 years of marriage in September 2023.
The former couple have two adult children, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19.
Sutton, for her part, filed for divorce from her Ocean’s Eleven screenwriter husband Ted Griffin, 53, after 10 years of marriage in October last year.
The actress and Griffin were married in Santa Barbara in 2014 and adopted their daughter Emily in 2017.
Meanwhile, Jackman returned home to Australia over the Christmas holidays following a busy work year overseas.
The Broadway star was seen enjoying a swim on several occasions at Bondi Beach, where he owns a penthouse apartment.
Jackman, whose Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine made a staggering $US1.338 billion at the global box office after its July release, was also spotted spending time with his children.
