Police have gatecrashed a 21st birthday party where 50 close friends and family were celebrating at the infamous ‘Candyman mansion’ on the Gold Coast.

POLICE ended up gatecrashing the 21st birthday of the son of the infamous Gold Coast playboy tycoon dubbed the Candyman after a noise complaint.
Travers ‘Candyman’ Beynon was hosting the party for Valentino at the family’s Helensvale mansion in the River Cove estate where police showed up in early evening.

Furious partygoer Belinda Gavin, the events boss for Mr Beynon’s tobacconist empire, said 50 family and close friends were celebrating but it was nothing like the elaborate annual house party he throws for 1500 guests.

“The police have walked right through and into the house and threatened Travers with some sort of noise violation - they were going to charge him if they had to come back.
“They seem to forget Travers is actually a family guy,” she said. “We can’t believe it but they have just moved it all inside.”

It wasn’t clear who had complained to police.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said a single noise complaint was made about the “Candyshop Mansion” at 5.12pm on Saturday and two officers attended but no further action was taken.
