Australia’s most expensive motorhome to feature at new OutdoorX in Sanctuary Cove
A ‘unit on wheels’ — two-storeys tall, with 10 beds and a full kitchen — debuted at the Gold Coast’s first OutdoorX showcase this weekend.

ONE of Australia’s most expensive motorhomes — comfortably fitting a family of eight — was centrestage at the Gold Coast’s newest outdoor expo this weekend.
The SLRV Commander 8x8, worth between $1-2 million, was featured at the inaugural OutdoorX showcase in Sanctuary Cove.
The palatial expedition vehicle stands at two-storeys and features multiple beds, a full ensuite and kitchen plus a lounge for eight to 10 people.
It also has a fully functioning electrical system, which its creators have called “the most technically advanced ever undertaken”.

SLRV Expedition Vehicles Director Warwick Boswerger said the client had requested “a unit on wheels”.

“When people see it they just can’t believe it, especially to see it in Australia,” he said.
“Everyone says, ‘You guys should be pretty proud of your work with something like that’.
“We don’t generally do your normal caravan shows, so for us OutdoorX was a good place to debut it.”
OutdoorX kicked off on Friday with 4x4 demos, trailer skills sessions and a world-renowned motorcycle stunt rider on display.
A crowd of 12,000 came through the three day event which also featured 4WD driving tracks, jetpack displays and high-end vehicles.
Sanctuary Cove’s Mulpha Events general manager Johan Hasser said the event would return next year from September 11-13.
“You only had to see the long queues of people waiting to be passengers on the purpose-built 4x4 obstacle course to know this was a special show,” he said.
“The ‘X’ in OutdoorX stands for ‘experience’ and that’s what our visitors have enjoyed.
