AQUAMAN has been spotted out and about before his Australian premiere at Robina tonight.
Before the “blue carpet” premiere Jason Momoa was spotted hanging out in Burleigh with friends, including local business owner Tim Beban.
Momoa and Mr Beban were spotted at popular Burleigh Heads restaurant Rick Shores earlier in the day, enjoying lunch and a pre-premiere tipple.
Mr Beban told the Gold Coast Bulletin last week that Momoa had invited him and three guests to the premiere.
The Surfboard Warehouse owner uploaded a photo of a glass of tequila, with the caption “Lunch with my ol friend tequila”, as Momoa sat across the table.
Mr Beban and Momoa bonded over boards and the ocean last year when Aquaman was filming on the Gold Coast.
Their families became close and the pair even designed a custom stand-up paddleboard together.
Momoa liked Mr Beban’s photo off his @prideofgypsies account, which boasts 7.6 million followers.
Momoa also uploaded a photo with two local artists who painted a giant Burleigh Heads Aquaman mural, tagged as MattyBro Art and Art By Ezra, and a board he designed with Mr Beban.
“Honored and proud to be back on the Gold Coast incredible artwork by @art_by_ezra @mattybro_art to honor Aquaman and my Polynesian heritage Me and @timmybe making eco friendly paddle boards #atlantispaddleboards” he wrote.
The mural is located on the eastern side of the Burleigh Heads stretch of the Gold Coast Highway, on the side of a building that contains Amara Organic Hair Salon and the Ayurveda Wellness Centre.
