A GOLD Coast businessman who became best pals with Aquaman will be strutting his stuff at the red carpet premiere next week — once he learns what that means.
Tim Beban, owner of The Surfboard Warehouse, bonded with Jason Momoa last year when the Hollywood movie star was on the Coast filming Aquaman.

The world premiere of Aquaman took place on Thursday night in Hollywood where Momoa walked with co-stars Nicole Kidman and Amber Heard and performed a ceremonial Haka.
While Kidman and Heard won’t be present on Tuesday, Mr Beban has already rubbed shoulders with Momoa’s rich and famous friends.
Their families went on camping trips together and were invited to parties at Momoa’s Hedges Ave holiday home, where Mr Beban unknowingly bragged about his business to billionaire Elon Musk and asked Amber Heard where he could put his baby’s pooey nappy.
From there the pair even crafted their own custom stand-up paddleboard, stamped with Momoa’s Hawaiian tattoo.
Fast forward 11 months and Mr Beban still talks to Momoa regularly and on Tuesday at Events Cinemas, Robina, will be walking the red carpet alongside his beefy pal at the Australian Aquaman premiere.

Whatever that means …
“I was about to ask you, what’s the red carpet all about?” Mr Beban asked the Bulletin.
“Do I have to wear a suit?”
The father of two is the first to admit he’s not much of a television or movie buff and that’s why his friendship with Momoa, who shot to fame as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, works so well.
“I have some sort of mental blockage with who he is, to me he’s still just a big kid,” Mr Beban said.
The pair are working on more custom boards for The Surfboard Warehouse, including an inflatable stand-up paddleboard range that will be as solid as a regular board when fully inflated.
In the meantime, Momoa has organised to take six of Mr Beban’s boards home once his Australian visit is over.
“He’s taking them back on his private jet, which is good because it’ll save me a lot on freight,” Mr Beban said with a laugh.
Aquaman, primarily filmed on the Gold Coast, will be in cinemas on Boxing Day.
