THE schools with the Gold Coast’s most crowded and best resourced classrooms have been revealed.
An analysis of national data from the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority has revealed the mainstream schools where teachers have the most students to teach.
The figures show in 2018 in the Gold Coast region there were more students per teacher at St Francis Xavier School, than any other schools.
According to the data, the most up to date that includes all state and private schools nationally, St Francis had 20.6 students for every teacher, the highest in the area.
NAPLAN: TOP GOLD COAST SCHOOLS REVEALED
The second highest student-teacher ratios were at Marymount Primary School where there was an average of 19.64 students for every teacher at the school.
At St Vincent’s Primary School there were 18.2 students for every teacher, the Gold Coast region’s third highest.
In contrast there is one teacher for every 9.6 students at Springbrook State School, the region’s lowest ratio of students per teacher for a mainstream school.
NAPLAN RESULTS FOR COAST SCHOOLS 2019
The second lowest ratio was at Numinbah Valley State School where there were 10 students per teacher.
The figures show at Keebra Park State High School there were 10.8 students per teacher, the third lowest ratio in the Gold Coast region.
According to ACARA the national student-teacher ratio was 13.5 students for every teacher.
Across the country independent private schools had the lowest student to teacher ratios with 11.7 students to every teacher.

Government schools had an average of 13.8 students for every teacher while Catholic schools had an average of 14 students for every teacher.
Student-teacher ratios do not take into account teacher aides or non-teaching staff at schools, only the full-time equivalent teachers.
In Queensland industrial awards agreements for state schools limit prep to Year 3 classes to 25 students per teacher, Years 4-10 to 28 and Years 11-12 to 25.
