NOT EVEN a pandemic could stop the Gold Coast’s newest school from opening this morning.
The culmination of over a decade of planning and community work the Men Of Business Academy, a specialist boys high school based in Southport welcomed its first few students.
The founder, CEO Marco Renai said while only children of essential workers are allowed to begin their school year at the campus, the team were optimistic about the future of the school which already has 15 enrolled.
“This has been a community project in the making for a long time, with over $800,000 in donations and great founding fathers and families it is just amazing to have seen it all come together,” Mr Renai said.
A team of local tradies and businesses had pulled together over the last few months donating their time and funds, to turn the Southport office into a modern school with a complete gym and kitchen to cater to boys in year 11 and 12.

“We have another ten to fifteen students in the pipeline and are proud to say we have a 100 per cent sign up rate for families who have come through the building,” Mr Renai said.
The school will be the second all boys school on the Gold Coast.
“It is about asking the student where they want to go, we work from there.
“We have three teachers and seven other support staff, it is a great team of like-minded people brining the skills to the table.”
