Queensland Health has released an updated list of COVID-19 exposure sites on the Gold Coast including a Pacific Fair chemist. SEE THE LIST >>>

Lab leak ‘extremely unlikely’: COVID-19 origin study

A PACIFIC Fair chemist has been added to the list of COVID-19 exposure sites on the Gold Coast.

Anyone who visited Giant Chemist at Pacific Fair on Thursday, March 18 between 1.45-2pm is urged to get tested and quarantine at home until they receive a negative result.

The location has been added to the list of casual contact tracing sites.

YESTERDAY:

QUEENSLAND Health has confirmed there are now two COVID-19 cases on the Gold Coast related to the Byron Bay hen’s party cluster.

One is a local tradie moonlighting as an adult entertainer who attended the hen's party. The other person tested positive at the Nerang (Kalwun) Respiratory Clinic on the Gold Coast. It's not known if this person lives in the Nerang area or elsewhere.

On Wednesday the state recorded two new cases of COVID-19, while one person in northern NSW tested positive for the virus.

Queensland Health on Wednesday afternoon released an updated list of COVID-19 exposure sites, including 13 on the Gold Coast - two more than listed yesterday.

The two new venues listed are Stable Coffee Kitchen in Tugun and Southport Park shopping centre.

However the inclusion of the two venues did not hint at any further spread of COVID-19 on the Gold Coast. The Woolworths supermarket within Southport Park was separately listed on Tuesday, while Stable Coffee Kitchen had posted to Facebook late on Tuesday afternoon that they had been informed a person with the virus had visited the cafe.

"Unfortunately we have been advised by QLD Health that Stable had a customer on Sunday 28th of March, who has since tested positive for Covid 19," the cafe wrote.

"She came in for a takeaway order between 11:27am-11:47am. The customer was located on a picnic table in our outdoor grassed area, while her partner ordered and received the takeaway and she didn’t enter into Stable or the other stores."

Other sites on the QLD Health list are in the suburbs of Southport, Mermaid Beach, Bundall, Tugun, Kirra, Nobby's Beach and Surfers Paradise.

Anyone who has visited the sites at the relevant times should get a COVID-19 test and quarantine until they get a negative result.
