Hudson, who attends The Southport School, wrote the song while stuck away from his girlfriend and schoolmates during strict social distancing measures.
“I just took (the isolation) into account and then thought about other people’s feelings,” he said, adding he had also been forced to give up busking for the foreseeable future.
“I’m inspired by Ed Sheeran and that’s something he does, write about how (other people) feel.”
He added it was a tough time for him and his friends as they, along with many students across the country, face missing much of their final year in school.
“It’s hard because I want to be at school. Year 12’s a big thing,” he said.
“You (become) a leader. I miss school, I miss sport, I miss playing music there.”
The song is to be released on Spotify next week, and is already available on Youtube and other music streaming services.
