HUNDREDS of Gold Coasters have waited braved long queues in a quest to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

The state government opened the jab hub at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre up to any resident wishing to get their first dose of vaccine as a part of the Super Pfizer Vaccination weekend.

Lines at the hub stretched throughout the car park with many waiting hours to get the jab.

Security officers and Queensland Health were on hand to help those who needed to register.

Police officers also stood observing the line as well.

The vaccine hub is set to accept more walk-ins at the clinic on Sunday.

Those not wanting to wait can still book appointments between 7am and 9pm every day by registering online at www.health.qld.gov.au/vaccinebookings.

Free carparking is available at the convention centre for those getting a vaccine.
