TIM Gordon, a developer with a taste for industrial land, is the mooted frontrunner for a whole city block in Surfers Paradise that’s being sold in the wake William O’Dwyer’s Ralan group failing.

The block, immediately south of the ex-Ralan Paradise Resort, is approved for twin towers and cost Ralan $19 million five years ago.

He indulged in a whole-floor apartment in the Jade tower in 2013, spending $3.9 million.

Terry, who retired from his chief information officer role with Nestle a couple of years back, marketed it earlier this year at $4.275 million and has sold it for $3.75 million.

RECORD SMASHED AT ‘THE COVE’

THE record rate for home sites at the Sanctuary Cove resort has been smashed, with a riverfront holding selling for $3133 a square metre.

That’s a jump from the $2089 a Chinese company paid in 2015 with an $8.4 million deal on 4021sq m in Edgecliff Close.

The new figure’s been set by Peter and Christine Taylor’s sale of a 1548sq m title adjoining their home in Bayside Close, a title once resting with Edwin Yu, owner of The Glades golf course.
