The would-be buyer’s been scrutinising properties in the street for some time and might even have had a tilt at a home in nearby Albatross Ave that sold for $25 million in May.

APPLE ACCUSED OF INFRINGING CHARTER PATENTS

CHARTER Pacific, a once-listed Gold Coast company that’s a minnow with technology aspirations, has indicated that it’s prodding a rather large North American bear.

Top man Kevin Dart has told his shareholders that the company’s US attorneys have told Apple – last week a $US3 trillion company – that it’s infringing Charter patents.

Charter, which is focusing on smartcard biometric, apparently believes several other global entities are ‘infringing’ too.

AVID TAKES LOOK AT SUNLAND ‘KFC SITE’

AVID, the American-spawned property group which last year took over the Gold Coast’s Villa World housing company, might have high-rise ambitions.

It’s apparently had a serious look at a Labrador site which the listed Sunland Group is trying to exit after flagging both twin and single-tower apartment projects.

The end result of Avid’s deliberations appears to have resulted in a decision not to pursue what is known as the KFC site and which overlooks the Broadwater.
