Ladies night returns to Gold Coast Glitter Strip nightclub

Super-sized ball pit? Check. Flashy bathrooms? Check. Photo-friendly lighting? Check and check.

The Bedroom nightclub has lifted the sheets on a $500,000 renovation, baring a revamped interior and unscaled “vibe” to the popular Orchid Ave venue.

It has been four years since the underground nightclub introduced the state’s first novelty ballpit and other Instagram-friendly features.

The new fit-out has “supercharged” the size of the pit – popular for diving into and posing for photos. It is now so big it needs a ladder to access it.

The Bedroom is part of the Artesian Hospitality empire, which includes rooftop hotspot Cali Beach Club, rave bar Tempo (formerly Sin City), R & B nightclub Havana and restaurant-bars White Rhino and Surfers Pavilion.

Artesian has also recently expanded into Brisbane with multiple venues Boojie (Tax Office), The Gatsby and Tama Dining.

Managing partner Matt Keegan said nothing had been left untouched in the “large-scale renovation” of the entire venue.

“There’s the super-sized ball pit, more Instagram-friendly areas, we’ve moved the DJ booth, installed a whole new sound system, new lighting and it is a whole new vibe,” he said.

“Our ball pit when we installed it was the first and the biggest.

“Now it is so big – about the size of a plunge pool – we have added a ladder to get into it.”

Another new feature is the VIP bathrooms, separately available exclusively to patrons booking VIP booths and bottle service.

“We have a full-time bathroom attendant there all the time,” Mr Keegan said.

“It is a girl who does full time hair and make up.

“The female bathroom is actually massive, it’s a good portion of the club.

“We’re also going to have dedicated VIP bathrooms for people who book bottle service – so they can swipe through a side door and get access to their own private area.”

The Bedroom is Artesian’s marquee nightclub venue, having hosted A-listers down the years including sprinting legend Usain Bolt, super-selling pop star Justin Bieber, actor Josh Hartnett, DJ Calvin Harris and – as Mr Keegan describes it – just about “anyone who has ever been on Geordie Shore or Love Island”.
