A diner-style eatery that once boasted the best burgers on the Gold Coast and had people queued out the door has closed.
Brooklyn Depot, part of the 4217 precinct in Surfers Paradise, has shut the doors after seven years in business.
The eatery’s doors were locked on Wednesday and the site was cleared out.
Brooklyn Depot’s telephone line was disconnected and it was listed on Google as “temporarily closed”.
The Bulletin made attempts to contact the eatery’s owner for comment, but did not receive a response by deadline.
The Surfers Paradise restaurant and bar popularised American-style burgers and milkshakes on the Gold Coast when it first opened.
It’s understood the original owners sold Brooklyn Depot to new owners more than a year ago.
This came after it expanded to locations in Surry Hills in Sydney and Southbank in Brisbane – which both remain open.
Brooklyn Depot joins a long list of Gold Coast restaurants to shut their doors in recent months.
Popular southern venue The Backyard Cafe announced it had shut up shop days ago and Montezuma’s Mexican restaurant at Coolangatta abruptly shut its doors last month.
In March, popular Main Beach eatery Lark Cafe closed to make way for a luxury tower.
