A HOUSE described as a rare and finely polished gem, sitting on one of only eight beachfront lots at Currumbin, is poised to make market waves.
The home, The Dunes, has been a labour of love for construction industry identity Nick Mynott and wife Ashley and was completed in December.
They have a young family and are moving to an acreage property.
Property agent Ed Cherry yesterday said he regarded the 8 Darwalla Ave property as the best home on the market on the Gold Coast.
“It’s in a unique beachfront position and the quality reflects the absolute passion that the Mynotts invested in building it.”

The home spans 703 sqm over three levels and has a four-car basement.
Mr Cherry, of Harcourts Coastal, said no expense had been spared to deliver one of the southern Gold Coast’s finest lifestyle residences in an exclusive cul-de-sac.
The house included extensive use of walls with retractable glass and both the indoor and outdoor areas took in views over the dunes, beach and surf.
“There’s been extensive use of ironbark timber and recycled timber throughout to create a warm, homely feel.”

The Mynott home, which is south of Elephant Rock, includes a 12-metre pool, a home automation system, and an external sound system inside and out.
The Mynotts bought the 653 sqm Darwalla Ave site for $2.95 million in 2017 in a deal in which Mr Cherry was involved.

They removed a three-unit building called Sandy Cove and embarked on construction of their new family home.
The last sale in Darwalla Ave was earlier this year and set a benchmark when the RSL paid $6.5 million for an 1163 sqm property with a 34-metre beach frontage.
That site since has been cleared for redevelopment.
The Mynott property is being auctioned on July 31.
