A Gold Coast seafood stalwart has opened two new eateries, both housed in one suburban shopping centre.
George’s Paragon: Seafood Restaurant and George’s Paragon: Cocktail Bar & Café have launched at The Strand Coolangatta.
George’s trademark coastal Greek fare will feature at both outlets.
The restaurant, on level one near the library, will offer George’s more traditional selections, including customer favourites seafood chowder, Atlantic salmon, and mussels, while the cafe-bar has a fresh take.
Located across the centre near Pancake Diner, the kiosk will focus on fast and fresh food, coffees and cocktails, with grab-and-go meals including moussaka and sweet Greek treats.
The expansion by George’s Paragon comes as others in the industry grapple with staffing and supply shortages, with a number of eateries forced to close in recent weeks.
Brooklyn Depot, part of the 4217 precinct in Surfers Paradise, shut the doors after seven years in business on Wednesday.
It’s understood the original owners sold Brooklyn Depot to new owners more than a year ago.
Southern venue The Backyard Cafe announced it had shut up shop days ago and Montezuma’s Mexican restaurant at Coolangatta abruptly shut its doors last month.
In March, Main Beach eatery Lark Cafe closed to make way for a luxury tower.
