A POPULAR Gold Coast hotel wants to stay open later and continue to serve alcohol into the early hours of the morning.

Operators of the Beach Hotel in Broadbeach have applied for its hours of operation to be expanded in a bid to offer greater services to its customers.

According to a report submitted to the council, the operators want to continue to serve alcohol until 3am, allow for the use of its outdoor dining area to be extended until midnight and its outdoor smoking area until 5am.

Currently the outdoor dining area can only be used between 7am and 10pm.

The outdoor smoking area is open from 7am to midnight.

The operator also has requested council approve a retractable awning to be built over the outdoor dining area of the Miss Monneypenny’s restaurant which fronts Surf Parade.

It is the most recent nightspot and restaurant to apply for extended trading hours.

In June the Bulletin revealed Mermaid Beach eatery Lupo had requested council allow it to stay open late.
