FITNESS queen Ashy Bines — who found fame with her Bines Bikini Body Challenge — has slimmed down her Mermaid Beach gym operation, cut classes and slashed fees.

The Ashy Bines Transformation Centre (TC) at Pacific Square has trimmed from two tenancies spanning 1000sq m to one shop across 700sq m.

Weekly gym membership fees have dropped from $29.99 to $9.99 and some classes, such as spin, have been axed.

Ms Bines, who has more than 840,000 Instagram followers, has also listed her luxury waterfront Broadbeach Waters home for sale, with an auction scheduled for September 4, after moving one street back from the beach.

Ms Bines’ husband Steven Evans has also been busy restructuring a company linked to the couple’s fitness empire.

On June 21 Mr Evans applied to both deregister the company ABBBC Pty Ltd and then re-register the company with a different ACN.

The company had assets of less than $1000 and no liabilities. Mr Evans and Ms Bines are joint shareholders in Platinum Investment Group Pty Ltd, the owner of ABBBC Pty Ltd.

In 2015 a Federal Court wind-up notice brought against ABBBC Pty Ltd by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) was dismissed.

The company had to pay the ATO costs of $5474.

Mr Evans, in a statement to the Bulletin, said shrinking the gym was simply a move to consolidate its operation under one roof while ditching unpopular classes.

“We’ve moved our entire TC operation back into one area rather than operate two separate and unconnected spaces,” he said.

“Over time we found there just wasn’t a great demand for pilates and spin classes by our TC community — so we decided to phase out those classes which meant we didn’t need the extra space.”

Mr Evans conceded competition is strong in the gym sector but said the business has a vision for the “long term”.

“We believe there will always be a strong demand for a motivating, supportive place for women to train on Gold Coast,” he said.

“We’re proud of our continued success and have no plans to close our TC Centre.”

He said the Broadbeach Waters home has been listed for sale after a buyer showed interest in the house and asked if it was for sale.

“We thought if the market is good why not? We felt it was a smart time for us to sell,” he said.

“We’ve also wanted to live closer to the beach for some time now — really keen to have a more outdoor, beachy lifestyle for our family. We found a place and are enjoying renting really close to the beach at the moment and getting the feel of the area.”

Ms Bines purchased the six-bedroom home for $1.955 million in 2013.

He said the registration and deregistration of the ABBBC company was lodged by their tax agent.

“We haven’t traded in that business for two years. The actions to deregister and re-register that business were lodged independently by our tax agent.”

In 2017 Ms Bines attracted controversy after admitting she regularly used a disabled parking space outside her gym.

A spokesman later issued an apology saying she was “truly remorseful for her actions and devastated that she has offended and let down others”.
