A Comanchero bikie boss is among eight people arrested as police continue their massive crackdown on crime in Sydney’s west.
The gang’s sergeant-at-arms Tarek Zahed was arrested in a Burwood pub on Wednesday afternoon before police from Strike Force Raptor raided his Homebush home where they allegedly found cash, prohibited drugs and Comanchero-branded clothing.
Zahed was charged with breaching bail on separate proceeds of crime charges and was remanded in custody to serve the final two months of a previous sentence after appearing in the District Court on Thursday.
Heavily armed Tactical Operations officers also raided a home in South Wentworthville, where they arrested bikie associate Helal Safi and his wife Latesha Campbell.
Safi, 45, was charged with a range of firearms offences, including three counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon and knowingly allowing the use of his home as a drug premises.
Campbell, 45, was also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and allowing the home to be used as a drug premises.
They remain behind bars on remand until their matter is heard in Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
Five other men were found inside the South Wentworthville home where police said they found an electronic storage device, mobile phones, prohibited knives, prohibited drugs believed to be methylamphetamine, heroin, MDMA and steroids, as well as prescription drugs.
Three of the men were charged with weapons offences while the other two were released.
