Glamorous Lip Lab founder Kimberley Treacy stands to lose her property empire and some beauty business interests as the NSW Crime Commission seeks to seize them under proceeds of crime laws.

The commission has applied to seize the $133,970 found in an Aldi shopping bag under a rock near her Wilton home and $151,000 found in the house, including $79,950 hidden in a Christmas present.

Treacy, 31, was arrested at her Camden beauty business in March last year and along with her drug mastermind boyfriend Shannon Macauley, was charged over the commercial supply of cocaine and ice in Sydney’s southwest.

She pleaded not guilty and the drugs charges were dropped after Macauley, 38, denied his girlfriend had any knowledge of the drugs and money. Macauley pleaded guilty to commercial drug supply and was sentenced to 11 years’ jail with six years non-parole.

Treacy still faces two charges of publishing false and misleading material to obtain property and two charges of obtaining property by deception which are due to be heard in April next year at Picton Local Court.

The mother-of-two became a media sensation after creating the multi-million dollar Lip Lab Cosmetics business with her younger sister Courtney in 2015. There is no suggestion Courtney is involved in any crime.

The sisters opened 14 stores across Australia selling cruelty-free beauty products. It is not known what has happened to the business but its Paddington flagship store remains closed and their mother Janine Treacy has taken over from Courtney as the sole company director and secretary.

The crime commission has frozen assets held jointly by Treacy and Macauley including a nine-acre plot of land at Orangeville. They sold their five-bedroom Wilton home in 2018 for $765,000, documents show.

The commission has also frozen her shares in businesses including Laser Express Australia Pty Ltd and her Camden Medi Spa and seized her Toyota Camry.

When Macauley was jailed by Campbelltown District Court, he was described as a drugs mastermind who inexplicably kept dealing even after he knew police were onto him.

Police raided the Wilton home in 2061 and found $133,970 cash, 105g of ice and 380g of cocaine in the blue Aldi bag. Nine months later police returned and found 738g of ice as well as two stashes of money of $71,050 and $79,950.

The court was told Macauley had a criminal record including armed robbery, shooting at someone, car theft and having stolen goods in his custody.

The crime commission has asked the NSW Supreme Court to order Treacy and Macauley pay an amount assessed by the court as the value of their “unexplained wealth”. Under the proceeds of crime laws, a person does not have to be convicted of an offence to have assets seized and it is up to them to prove they were obtained legitimately.

The case is listed before the court next on November 9 for directions.
