A couple have been charged after allegedly kidnapping a woman in Sydney‘s east on Tuesday.
Local police arrived at the scene about 8:30pm on Tuesday, January 4 following reports of loud noises inside a unit on Dowling St, Wooloomooloo.
A woman was found inside the apartment with injuries from an alleged assault, including cuts and bruising on her face.
She was taken to St Vincent‘s Hospital for treatment and has since been released.
A 38 year-old man and a 40 year-old woman, understood to be a couple, were arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.
Police sources said the injured woman was an acquaintance of the pair, and was allegedly kidnapped following a dispute over drugs.
The man and woman were both charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, kidnap in company with intent serious indictable occasion and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
The woman was also charged with supply prohibited drug an indictable and commercial quantity and possessing a prohibited drug.
They were both refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
