The body of a young woman has washed up on one of Sydney’s most iconic beaches after being found by a member of the public.

The body of a young woman has been discovered washed up on Bronte Beach in Sydney’s east.
A member of the public made the distressing find around 5.45am on Wednesday morning.
Police believe the woman is likely to be in her twenties or thirties however are currently unable to determine her exact age due to the state of the body.
They said the body appeared to have been in the water for a lengthy period of time.
A crime scene has been established but police are currently treating the case as not suspicious.
Police are now in the process of checking missing persons' lists.
