The body of the woman in her 70s was found at a lodging unit on Memorial Ave in South West Rocks about 8am on Friday after police received a concern for welfare.
When officers arrived they found a 59-year-old man inside the unit and arrested him.

The man was charged with murder and established Strike Force Nundroo on Saturday morning, and is set to face court today.
