Villawood, Nurragi St alleged stabbing: 14-year-old charged

A 14-year-old boy is in hospital with a stab wound to his stomach and another 14-year-old is set to face court charged over the alleged incident.

A teenage boy has been charged over the alleged stabbing of another teenage boy in Villawood on October 25.

About 7pm police were called after a 14-year-old boy went to Bankstown Hospital with a stab wound to his stomach.

The boy was later transferred to Randwick Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command launched an investigation and were told the boy had allegedly been stabbed by another male at a park near the intersection of Alcoomie and Nurragi Streets, Villawood.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 14-year-old boy at a home at Bass Hill about 11.30pm.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with reckless wounding.

The teenager was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at a children’s court on November 11, 2021.

The boys are known to each other and inquiries into the incident are continuing.
