The Snitch: Accused crook busted ordering sex workers while away from his wife

Does a certain accused crook’s wife know he orders sex workers while overseas? And you won’t believe how much money a certain high end legal job pays these days. Don’t miss The Snitch.

Guess which accused organised crime figure got busted organising sex workers when they were on a trip away from their wife.

The hapless bloke got sprung because he arranged the tryst via text message.

Then when he got charged with unrelated offences, police seized his phone, extracted the messages and included them in evidence for their court case.

We’re told they make for pretty explicit reading. The message starts with our crook texting the pimp asking for photos. The pimp replied that they needed more specifics to best satisfy their desires.

“Blonde, brunette, petite, white, Asians? Give me parameters,” the pimp replied.

After several pictures were sent, our accused crook replied that he wanted an “18 year old” and was given two options of selecting a woman known as “Bianca” and another the pimp referred to as “big cans”.

The accused crim rejected a separate option and said “She scares me … I don’t like them too hot.”

After a decision was made, the chat then turned to negotiating what sexual acts the man would be allowed to perform, which are too explicit to repeat here.

The price they landed on was $2000 for 45 mins and our accused crook asked if “HIV” was a risk.

The pimp reassured the woman was “high end” and “Russian”.

Wonder what his wife thinks?

Sentenced to $780,000

Former NSW Supreme Court Justice Geoff Bellew loves the working man’s game of rugby league, but he threw his wig in the ring for a new job with a pay-packet that is not so working class.

The one eyed Manly Sea Eagles supporter was appointed as the boss of the State Parole authority this month.

But it wasn’t the first gig he had his eye on for his post Supreme Court life.

Bellew went for the job of chief commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

But that gig went to former NSW Attorney General and District Court Judge John Hatzistergos who got the tap in August.

So why would anyone want such a job?

A few reasons actually.

Former ICAC commissioner Megan Latham infamously (and gleefully until she got smashed by the fallout) referred to grilling hapless witnesses as like “pulling the wings off butterflies”.

Snitch can think of another reason as to why anyone would want to take up the title of chief butterfly wing puller.

The gig pays an eye-popping $780,000 a year.

According to ICAC’s annual report, the chief commissioner’s “salary is calculated at 160 per cent of a NSW Supreme Court puisne judge.”

Puisne means any judge that isn’t the Chief Justice (we had to look that up).

SPAs’ annual report does not disclose what its top job pays, but we’re reliably informed it’s a whole lot less.

Bellew still a very busy man though and is showing no signs of wanting to disappear to Maui.

Bellew still presides over the NRL judiciary and is the chairman of the NRL agent accreditation committee.

And it was also revealed last month that he was being considered for inclusion as an inaugural member of rugby league‘s independent commission.

Trial marches on

The jury deliberation in trial of accused tax fraudster Adam Cranston is about to move into March.

Cranston and others are accused of ripping off more than $100 million from the Australian Taxation office and the resulting trial was one of longest and most complex in recent memory.

The trial started last April and the jury began deliberations in early January.

We’re now about to hit March and haven’t heard a peep from the jurors.

From what we saw of the trial, they have a lot of dense and complex material to consider.
