Police have raided a Balmain home connected to a serving officer who is sought over the disappearance of ex-TV presenter Jesse Baird and his flight attendant boyfriend Luke Davies.

Search intensifies for missing TV Presenter Jesse Baird and partner Luke Davies

A NSW Police officer who once dated missing television presenter Jesse Baird is being sought over the disappearance of the former Channel 10 personality and Mr Baird’s Qantas flight attendant boyfriend.

Detectives were last night trying to track down general duties constable Beau Lamarre as part of their investigation into the whereabouts of Mr Baird and his partner Luke Davies after large amounts of blood-soaked clothing was found.

Police believe Mr Lamarre may be able to assist with their inquiries.

On Thursday night, police raided a Balmain home believed to be connected to Mr Lamarre and seized a number of items.

Mr Baird, a red carpet reporter on Studio Ten until late last year, has been dating Mr Davies for several months, with the pair posting loved up photos on their social media accounts.

Prior to his current relationship, Mr Baird dated celebrity chaser and autograph hound turned policeman Constable Lamarre, who is understood to be on sick leave this week.

The couple have links to Queensland as well as Sydney, with Mr Baird working in television in Brisbane while Mr Davies grew up in Greenbank, south of the capital.

The investigation began on Wednesday morning, when a greenkeeper at a bowling club in Cronulla found a pile of bloodied clothes in a skip, and called police.

Among the clothing was a credit card belonging to Mr Davies, an $8000 watch and some personal items linked to Mr Baird.

Officers rushed to the Paddington terrace of Mr Baird, where they found large amounts of blood and broken furniture, and immediately declared it a crime scene, with grave concerns for both men.

The Daily Telegraph has been told blood had seeped through the floorboards of the two-storey terrace, and obvious attempts had been made to clean it.

Detectives spent more than 24 hours at the Brown St residence, carrying out furniture with blood splatters and wrapping it up as evidence, while officers continued searching for the two men, including at the Waterloo unit rented by Mr Davies. It was empty.

Police confirmed Mr Baird’s mobile phone was active on Tuesday night, when text messages were sent to friends and his social media accounts were used.

That led police to think Mr Baird was alive, and that possibly Mr Davies had met with foul play, given the amount of blood found.

But on Thursday afternoon, detectives received information from the relatives of Mr Baird that he had been in a bitter break-up with Const Lamarre, prompting police to widen their search.

It’s understood the family also mentioned that one of the missing men was recently being stalked by an unknown person

“We are looking at all of their former partners … there is a police officer we want to speak to, yes, but he’s one of many we want to speak to at this early stage” a police source said.

Constable Lamarre was once known as one of Sydney’s most prominent celebrity chasers beforing joining the police force in 2019.

He reportedly “came out” to Lady Gaga when he threw a note onto the stage during one of her concerts.

Just a year into the job, a video of Constable Lamarre tasering a man in the face during a dramatic arrest in Darlinghurst went viral.

He was later cleared by an internal investigation of any wrongdoing, and the man arrested, Kris Bradshaw, 33, was charged with intimidating and assaulting police.

ARGUMENT

Detective Superintendent Jodi Radmore said officers canvassing the neighbourhood were told about a shouting argument on Monday morning. She said the fight wasn’t reported to police at the time, but it is now a crucial part of the investigation.

“We do believe from the crime scene at Paddington, and from property at Cronulla, there has been some sort of incident that has more than likely occurred at Paddington that has given us cause for concern,” Detective Superintendent Radmore said.

Bank accounts of both men have not been touched since the weekend, but police are examining CCTV of two people walking near the terrace on Monday night to establish if it’s the last sighting of Mr Davies and Mr Baird.

Det Supt Radmore said three vehicles belonging to the pair had been located and seized for forensic examination. She said police were told two of the cars belonged to Mr Baird and the third was owned by Mr Davies.

A large white van was seen in the street on Monday night which police are also trying to track down.

Det Supt Radmore said the two men were very active on social media and had a wide circle of friends who police are keen to speak to.

“We do know they had a collection of friends so if anyone knows anything, please contact us,” Det Superintendent Radmore said.

Friends told The Daily Telegraph that Mr Baird had recently talked about fearing for his safety.

“I’m so scared for his wellbeing,” a friend said last night. “He used the word stalker”.

Mr Baird finished up with Channel 10 in December, after about six years with the network. He began with Ten working as a producer on Totally Wild, and then as a presenter before moving to Sydney where he began with Studio 10 as a producer and roving reporter.

Former colleagues were last night distraught by the news.

“This is so out of character, we can’t get our heads around any of it,” a colleague said.

Qantas colleagues of Mr Davies were being offered counselling and support.

“Our thoughts are with family, friends and colleagues of our crew member at this very difficult time,” a spokesperson said.

Police urge anyone with information about the missing men to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
