Travis Kelce joins Taylor Swift in Sydney for Eras Tour after Super Bowl win

Taylor Swift has visited Sydney Zoo in western Sydney for the second time in as many days, this time with her NFL star boyfriend Travis Kelce hours after he touched down in the harbour city aboard her private jet.
Swift was seen wearing a pink top and blue denim shorts while walking hand-in-hand with her beau around the zoo in Eastern Creek.
The power couple were seen leaving Crown in Barangaroo in a Lamborghini behind three black Range Rovers just before 5pm on a beautiful sunny Thursday afternoon with the temperature hitting 30 degrees.
A group of security guards ran in front of the cars as they exited, blocking passers-by from crossing the footpath or the road, and they stood by as the vehicles were ushered out of the underground parking dock.
The reunion
US Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce has been reunited with popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift at Sydney’s Crown Hotel.
The Kansas City Chief star, who arrived at Sydney airport on a private plane on Thursday morning, went straight to Barangaroo skyscraper and up to Swift’s Presidential suite on the 88th floor.
It is understood, from those watching from outside the hotel, that she jumped into his arms.
Kelce was later seen taking in the panoramic view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from windows of the two-level villa.
His friend Ross Travis was by his side.
An enormous rack of clothes with T-shirts and shorts could be seen pushed up against another of the $38,000-a-night apartment’s windows.
The touchdown
Earlier on Thursday, Kelce’s arrival was the most watched touchdown of the day.
His private jet was the most tracked flight worldwide according to Flightradar24 as more than 9000 people watched him arrive in Sydney to be reunited with his superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift.
And in true football style the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end had a decoy coming out of the plane that confused everybody.
In the Chief’s win against the San Francisco 49ers, Kelce was the decoy in the final play with quarterback Patrick Mahomes throwing the winning ball to teammate Mecole Hardman Jr.
“It’s an electric feeling, knowing all eyes are on me and someone else is open,” he said.
On the tarmac at Mascot airport on Thursday morning the decoy was Kelce’s best mate and fellow footballer Ross Travis.
Two virtually identical bearded men got out of the private Bombardier Global 6000 at 6.57am and headed for a waiting silver Mercedes Benz van. Social media exploded with Swifties debating who was who? They even had the same name.
First out was a man in a striped tracksuit and white hat followed by another in black tracksuit and white trainers.
“Is that Trav?,” asked Nine presenter Richard Wilkins as every channel provided coverage of the first man in the black cap getting off the plane.
“No, that looks like Travis, the second one,” replied his co-host.
On X, formerly Twitter, the debate centred on whether Ross was actually Kelce’s brother Jason. It became more confusing than an NFL playbook.
“Travis Kelce lands in Sydney with friend Ross. They think Ross is Jason,” Lavender Lover said on X.
She was right. But which was Kelce? Before boarding the flight Ross Travis had posted on Instagram clearly showing his striped tracksuit pants and plain white trainers.
The first man off the plane with the black cap and Nike trainers was Kelce and off second in the striped tracksuit was his mate Ross.
Having sorted that out, the Swifties could then concentrate on Kelce getting through customs and travelling to Crown in Barangaroo and reuniting with his waiting girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Customs officials greeted the NFL player at the stairs of the aircraft as he was ushered in a waiting silver van to the terminal.
A throng of media were on hand to document Kelce’s arrival after days of speculation as to whether or not he would make it Down Under.
Fans too camped out at the airport for a glimpse of the pro athlete, hoping Swift may be at the airport too.
Siblings from Mascot Tiarna and Kylan Simon woke up bright in early in the hopes of catching Kelce and Swift at the airport, but had no luck.
“We were hoping she (Swift) might come as well,” Tiarna told The Daily Telegraph. “We were hoping she’d show up to meet him.”
Tiarna is a Swift mega-fan who was left devastated after missing out on tickets for the superstar’s Sydney shows.
“It’s terrible,” the 21-year-old said. “I’ve been trying on Ticketek market place on everything but no luck. She’s iconic, the most popular artist in the world and I’m obsessed with her music.”
The Swift fan brought her 18 year-old brother along to the ExecuJet terminal on Thursday morning, given he was a Kelce fan.
“He’s more a Travis fan I’m more like Taylor,” Tiarna said.
“We knew he was coming soon so we were like let’s just go we live around the corner,” Kylan said. “I’m more sporty. He should’ve come earlier. He’s literally jumped straight in the car.”
Earlier this week, Kelce was spotted playing golf in Las Vegas, where he and his team, The Kansas City Chiefs won the 2024 Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers.
He missed the Melbourne shows of Swift’s Eras tour but has made it in time for the first of four performances at Sydney’s Accor Stadium starting Friday night.
The last time Kelce was seen at one of Swift’s concerts was in Argentina in November.
The 14-time Grammy winner jetted into Australia last week after celebrating Kelce’s Super
Bowl win when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.
It was the Chiefs third Super Bowl title in five seasons.
Swift 34, cheered Kelce on at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas before joining him on the field for post-match celebrations.
Swift’s tight schedule had seen her perform shows in Tokyo before racing the clock to get back to the US for the Super Bowl on February 11.
Celebrations together after the Super Bowl were short-lived due to Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour which saw her play three sellout shows in Melbourne last week before heading to Sydney.
Speculation had been rife that Kelce would join his girlfriend in Sydney now the NFL season was complete.
News of Kelce’s travels comes a day after his father, Ed Kelce, said his son was keen to join Swift and see the sights of Sydney.
Despite Kelce’s absence so far, Swift wasted no time getting out and about in Sydney.
The Bad Blood singer was snapped eating out at Surry Hills restaurant Pellegrino 2000, visiting Sydney Zoo in Western Sydney and performing soundchecks at the Homebush venue for her shows.
