Raptor Squad detectives have charged a teenager over a violent rampage on a Tallawong home last month that allegedly involved gunfire, a stun grenade and an attempted forced entry with a sledgehammer.

Emergency services were called to Loura St just before 4.40am on November 27, after reports shots had been fired at a home.

Police were told two masked men tried to smash their way inside using a sledgehammer.

One man allegedly attempted to fire a gun at the home but, when the weapon malfunctioned, he threw a stun grenade into the property.

Investigators allege the pair then returned to their Mazda CX-5, retrieved another firearm and fired two shots at the home before fleeing. The two residents inside were unharmed.

A search of the crashed car uncovered a live grenade, two firearms, one loaded, a magazine, a mobile phone and other items, including bleach and clothing.

Bomb and Rescue Squad officers and Australian Defence Force personnel were called in to safely remove the grenade.

Local detectives established crime scenes before the investigation was handed to State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad under Strike Force Calvin.
