South Penrith man Warren John Greenup’s matter was listed in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, where he was formally refused bail, after being charged with cause grievous bodily harm to a person with intent to murder.
Emergency services were called to the Country Concourse platforms on Level 1 at about 1pm on Saturday, where they found his 48-year-old son-in-law with stab wounds to his back.
He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
Mr Greenup, 71, was allegedly treated for minor injuries at the station before he was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station to be charged.
He was not required to enter a plea and will reappear in court at a future date.
