A prison officer who allegedly fell pregnant to an incarcerated robber told her colleague he was “really caring” when she told him the baby news, police allege.

Amber Clavell is accused of having an affair with armed robber Mark Kennedy, 27, while she was working and he was serving time inside Geoffrey Pearce Correctional Centre in Sydney’s northwest.

Court documents allege that in April, Clavell found out she was pregnant with his child, and told her friend and colleague Jessica Elguindy – who was also having an affair with an inmate – that she was “in denial” about the pregnancy.

“I was in denial last night, I’ve done three (tests) and they’re all positive … I feel like an idiot … How did the morning after pill not work,” she allegedly told Elguindy in a text.

“Did you two decide what you guys are doing,” Elguindy replied.

“Not really we’re gonna have a proper discussion about it tonight … There’s a part of both of us right now that don't want to get rid of it … He was so caring last night.”

Yet just one week later, police allege she decided to “blank” Kennedy, because he was jealous of her talking to other inmates and ended the relationship.

“I’m so confused … he told me how this isn’t just a jail thing then I got this message,” she allegedly told Elguindy.

Court documents exclusively obtained by the Saturday Telegraph reveal how Elguindy and Clavell communicated with their alleged jail lovers – using code names to disguise the relationships.

Elguindy – a married mother of three – this week pleaded guilty to engaging in an intimate relationship with an inmate, accessing restricted data and misconducting herself as a holder of public office.

Elguindy was working as a facilitator for the Intensive Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programme at Geoffery Pearce – and admitted to having inappropriate relationships with not one, but two inmates at the prison.

The young mum confessed her love for inmate Beau Jones via letters which she sent to his contraband phone – as well as photos of herself in various states of undress and pictures of sex toys.

In one message found on Jones’ illegal phone – he told a friend: “Bra me and my mate have IDAPT teachers in love with us bringing us packets and vapes it’s off its head. We’ve been hooking up with them,” according to the documents.

When Clavell and Elguindy discussed their illegal relationships with one another, they used female code names. Mark Kennedy was referred to as ‘Molly’, while Beau Jones was known as “Bella”.

In one text discussion found on Elguindy’s phone – she told Clavell her “heart hurts man”, because “Bella’s” phone had broken, and she was too nervous to smuggle one in for him.

“If I wouldn’t get caught and lose my job I would, but f**k I’m literally the only person providing for my kids and I can’t f**k up right now. My heart hurts man,” she wrote.

Despite her relationship with Jones, she also admitted to having an “unprofessional friendship” with Onefour associate Elijah Sila.

Despite being warned their relationship with Sila was under investigation by the Corrective Services Investigation Unit, Elguindy was caught visiting him while he was in segregation, sneaking off to different locations around the jail with him and looking up his information in confidential databases.

While they both denied having a sexual relationship, Elguindy’s name and phone number were found inside Sila’s personal diary.

Both Clavell and Elguindy were arrested on April 23, after Correctives Services referred their investigation into the allegations to police.

While Elguindy has pleaded guilty to the offences against her, Clavell is yet to enter pleas to the charges of engaging in an intimate relationship with an inmate, two counts of access or modifying restricted data, bringing prohibited drugs into place of attention and drug supply.

She will return to court next week.
