The likelihood of a widespread search for missing couple Luke Davies and Jesse Baird continuing remains uncertain in the days after Beau Lamarre-Condon’s arrest.
So far crime scenes from around the city set up by detectives this week remain at a standstill as Lamarre-Condon, 28, spends his second night in custody.
The operations support group constable has not cooperated with police desperate to find the bodies of Mr Davies and Mr Baird, after he handed himself into police at Bondi on Friday morning.
Families of the Melbourne and Brisbane men have already endured a week of waiting for answers as to whether they will get to lay their loved ones to rest.
Police divers on Saturday were searching in the Newcastle suburb of Lambton, where police allege they tracked Lamarre-Condon too this week.
Despite this, there has been no major escalation in the search since Lamarre-Condon was charged with two counts of murder.
A National Parks source said police were scouring Kamay Botany National Park on Friday, however it was unclear if it was in connection with the deaths of Mr Davies and Mr Baird.
So far police have searched areas from as far as Newcastle to the Shire in a desperate bid to locate the remains of the couple.
A skip bin near Cronulla police station on Wednesday initially led police to signs the pair may have met with foul play.
Bloodied clothes and items belonging to Mr Davies were located, leading police to search the Brown St Paddington home of Mr Baird for the next 24 hours.
The terrace property is where police allege the men were killed and attempts were made to cover up the scene.
Inside they found bullet casing indicating at least one shot was fired in the home and blood seeping through the floorboards.
The casing was then traced back to a NSW Police registered firearm.
Mr Davies’ home in Waterloo was also searched, where there was no sign of the Qantas flight attendant.
Thursday night Lamarre-Condon’s mother’s home in Balmain was searched.
On Friday police were seen in the Newcastle suburb of Lambton combing over areas on Tathra and Karoola Rds.
It is there that detectives allege Lamarre-Condon drove to the night before the white van he rented out was cleared out.
A short time later he allegedly drove it back to Grays Point, where it was located by police.
Despite tracking a white van rented out by Lamarre-Condon from Mascot to Paddington and to Newcastle police are still appealing to the public for any more sightings.
The white HiAce van, allegedly used to transport the bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies, would form a crucial piece of the puzzle in a bid to locate their remains.
