Rock Creek: Six charged after mammoth cannabis bust worth over $20m
Six people will front court today after police swooped on a large cannabis crop believed to be worth over $20 million near Narrabri in the state’s northwest.

Six people have been charged and will face court today after a massive cannabis crop estimated to be worth over $20 million was uncovered in the state’s northwest.
Five men – aged 28, 33, 35, 45 and 56 – and a 41-year-old woman were arrested at a remote property on Killarney Gap Rd in Rock Creek, near Narrabri, after police uncovered a large batch of cannabis plants and seeds.
In total, police located 10,928 cannabis plants and cannabis seeds on the premises.
The cannabis was seized and was estimated to have a street value of about $21.8 million.
All six people were charged with knowingly taking part in cultivating large commercial quantities of cannabis.
They were all refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today.
Officers from Oxley Police District have been investigating the cultivation of cannabis on the property since September this year.
Under Strike Force Lyretail, and with the assistance from the Western Region Enforcement Squad, police swooped in about 3am on Thursday after obtaining a warrant.
