A man accused of stabbing another man in the leg and abdomen six times before allegedly stalking and intimidating a woman just days later has fronted court.
Cody James, 36, appeared in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and stalking and intimidation.
While the Nowra man has pleaded not guilty to the stalking allegation, he is yet to enter pleas for the wounding charge, which allegedly occurred in the early hours of January 9 this year.
Court documents state James attacked another man in Nowra about 2am on the Thursday morning, stabbing him six times in his left leg and abdomen.
James allegedly fled the scene before emergency services could arrive.
However, James aroused suspicion from police when he allegedly stalked and intimidated a woman in Nowra one week later on January 15 at 3pm.
Police were again contacted about the alleged incident.
Investigations into the two alleged offences were launched and an arrest warrant for James was put out by NSW Police in February.
He was later arrested, charged and granted bail.
James appeared in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, represented by Benjamin Goodhew, where a plea of not guilty was entered for his alleged stalking and intimidation offence.
Mr Goodhew said his client would be entering pleas to the wounding charge at his next court appearance.
Magistrate Michael Love adjourned James’ case to June 20 in the same court.
