NSW Police have executed a major operation targeting Hells Angels bikies, which resulted in two men being charged and the issuing of dozens of traffic fines.
A search of a Goulburn home last week also resulted in officers locating two knuckle dusters, a lock picking kit and small quantities of what is believed to be prohibited drugs.
The joint operation between NSW’s Raptor Squad and ACT Police on Friday January 31 involved two vehicle check points on the Barton Highway and Federal Highway.
Officers stopped about 40 people on motorcycles and four separate support vehicles, then separately monitored a club house in Canberra over the weekend.
Footage of the operation shows police searching motorbikes and individuals wearing Hells Angels colours.
In total, police issued 50 traffic infringement notices and identified 23 vehicle defects.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with possessing prohibited drugs and another 43-year-old man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for unlicensed driving.
In a statement, Detective Acting Superintendent Virginia Gorman, Commander of State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad said: “Outlaw motorcycle gangs and their associates should know they cannot gather in large numbers for a national run without attracting the attention of Raptor Squad.”
