Police have launched an operation in Sydney’s west after Rebels bikie Chris Rymer, who was previously shot in the genitals, was shot again earlier this week.

Bikies in Australia: A short history

Police have recanvased a Sydney suburb in search of witnesses and evidence, after a Rebels bikie was this week shot for the second time in 18 months.

High-profile Rebel Chris Rymer drove himself to Hawkesbury Hospital about 9.30am on Tuesday with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

The 31-year-old was famously shot in the penis and the stomach in March last year, while seated in a taxi at Riverstone.

The driver was also injured in the attack but drove the pair to hospital.

Police returned to Agnes Banks, near Richmond, on Friday morning, to conduct an operation in relation to the latest shooting.

Police spoke to Rymer, who was hospitalised for one night, after Tuesday’s shooting.

His car was seized as evidence and a crime scene established around his home on Bounty Cres, Bligh Park.

A second crime scene was established on Bonner Rd where an orange Ford Mustang was found torched.

Police hope Friday’s canvas will identify witnesses who may have seen the Mustang in the area in the hours prior to the shooting.
