Police appeal for information, release CCTV after man bashed on corner of Oxford and Riley streets at Darlinghurst

Nearly two months after a violent attack in Sydney’s CBD landed a man in hospital, police have released CCTV footage from the night in a push to get some answers and find witnesses.
Police have been told about 4am on June 26, a 33-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Oxford Street and Riley Street at Darlinghurst, when he was set upon by a group of men who were unknown to him.
The group then fled the scene on foot, while the injured man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital and treated for facial injuries and has since been released.
Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation, and have now released CCTV footage from the night in an appeal for information.
Police believe that three men depicted in the CCTV have knowledge of the event and may be able to assist with the investigation.
The first man depicted is described as being of African appearance with black hair. He is wearing a red T-shirt, white shorts and white shoes.
The second depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance with light brown hair. He is wearing a blue and white striped football jersey with the number 15 on the back, black jeans and white shoes.
The third man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance with dark hair. He is wearing a cream long sleeve shirt, black pants and white shoes.
All are described as being aged in their mid-20s.
As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or are able to assist in the identification of individuals involved to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
