Police want to talk to a man who drove an injured woman to hospital with suspected spine and internal organ wounds after she was shot in Sydney’s south-west last month.
The 37-year-old woman arrived at the emergency department of Bankstown Hospital by car just before 1am on January 12, but when police officers arrived the male driver had left the scene on foot.
The white Mercedes Benz sedan was abandoned outside the emergency department.
Detectives attended a property on Simmat Avenue at Condell Park where the shooting took place.
A crime scene was established at the home after a number of bullet holes and casings were located.
Strike Force Chelston was formed to investigate the shooting and as inquiries continue, police are appealing for assistance to locate the man who took the injured woman to hospital.
He is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, a medium build, about 175cm tall and with a dark beard.
At the time he was wearing a black hoodie, black shorts and full-length black training tights.
The woman remains in hospital with serious injuries including a suspected severed spine and damage to her internal organs.
