A man charged with causing serious harm to an infant boy has been released on bail.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said in a statement detectives arrested a Banora Point man in relation to the alleged incident about 6.30am on Thursday.
She said that arrest came “as part of ongoing investigations by officers attached to Far North Coast Child Abuse Unit”.
“He was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and has since been charged with reckless grievous bodily harm,” the spokeswoman said.
“Police will allege in court the man inflicted serious injuries on a four-month-old infant boy in December 2021.”
The man was initially refused bail by police.
He then appeared before Tweed Heads Local Court on Friday and was granted conditional bail to appear before the same court on Friday, March 18.
