The Facebook page of slain gangster Omar Zahed is being used to issue warnings from beyond the grave to the “weak dogs” responsible for his shooting death at an Auburn gym last month.
Zahed, 39, was gunned down as he and his Comanchero bikie heavyweight brother Tarek, 41, stood in the lobby of the Bodyfit Gym on Parramatta Rd about 8pm on May 10.
But several weeks after his death, as his brother continues to slowly recover in hospital, Zahed’s associates are making their anger at his killing known.
In a post on Omar’s personal Facebook page late last month an associate protested that he had died “in … something not meant for you”, and asked Allah to exact revenge on the gunmen and “bring them down”.
“May Allah swt curse every single person who had a hand in your death,” the post reads.
“May Allah swt curse them and bring them down in this life before the next and may Allah swt expose every dog who had (a) hand in what happen(ed) to you.
“May Allah swt bring your haq [truth] in this life before the next. You died a souljah [soldier] you died in the crossfire of something that wasn’t meant for you which is what makes them weak dogs and cowards, scum of the earth.
“May Allah swt humiliate them in this life before the next.”
The post makes it clear that those close to the Zaheds believe Tarek was the only target of the hit, despite a significant amount of talk in the underworld that both men were marked.
Tarek, the Sergeant at Arms of the Comanchero OMCG and likely next National President before being shot 10 times, had been warned by NSW Police prior to his death about a bounty on his head.
As he and his brother left a gym workout, they were gunned down in a hail of more than 20 bullets.
In the months before his death Omar Zahed had started a TikTok page offering a look into the lives he and his bikie boss brother led.
The page shared photos of them in Lebanon and at Comanchero bikie events, but was shut down only a few weeks before the shooting.
While his older brother has long been one of the best known bikies in Australia, Omar also had large ties to the underworld and served significant jail time.
NSW Police set up Strike Force Erebus in the wake of his death to investigate a spate of gang shootings.
The Daily Telegraph understands Tarek Zahed is now in a stable condition in hospital, but has lost vision in his right eye after a bullet pierced his eyeball.
