A Bondi Junction man accused of murdering a 48-year-old man at a Ryde unit block allegedly travelled to a house he was prohibited from visiting in Sydney’s southwest hours before the alleged murder.
Troy Daniel Rawiri, 34, is accused of murdering Timothy Sixsmith at the unit block on Saturday, and also breaching an apprehended violence order at a separate address.
He faced Campbelltown Local Court for a brief appearance on Monday from the courtroom dock where his matter was adjourned. He did not apply for bail.
Court documents allege Rawiri murdered Mr Sixsmith between 2pm and 5.10pm on Saturday. Police also allege he travelled to a home in Leumeah between 7am and 7.10am, breaching a prohibition or restriction order for an AVO.
Police were called to a unit on Curzon St in Ryde about 5pm on Saturday.
Officers responding to reports of an assault arrived to find an unconscious man inside the home in cardiac arrest.
CareFlight and NSW Ambulance paramedics worked on Mr Sixsmith before he was rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital with massive head and chest injuries.
He was pronounced dead.
Detectives investigating the alleged attack were led to a home on O’Sullivan Rd in Leumeah, where they arrested Rawiri just after 2.10pm and established a crime scene.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and later charged with murder and contravening a prohibition/restriction in an AVO (domestic).
Rawiri was remanded in custody and will next face court in Burwood on March 19.
