Norah Head: Body found on Soldiers Beach decomposed with limbs missing

Police have revealed more details about the condition of a significantly decayed dead body found on a popular Central Coast beach.

The dead body found on a popular Central Coast beach on Thursday morning was so decomposed that it was beyond identification, police say.

On 11am Thursday morning, a member of the public discovered some significantly decayed humans remains on the shoreline of Soldiers Beach at Norah Head.

NSW Police said parts of the body were missing and it could not be known how long it had been in the water.

They said they were unable to immediately identify the sex or the age of the person due to the conditions of the remains.

Officers were seen scouring the shore and inspecting the sand at Soldiers Beach yesterday.

An investigation has been launched and is expected to take quite some time.
