Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in Quakers Hill
A man has been charged with allegedly murdering another man in Sydney’s west after three unrelated knife attacks within eight hours across NSW, with two men dead and another figuring for life.

A man has been charged with the murder after he allegedly stabbed another to death in western Sydney.
Police rushed to a Quakers Hill address about 8pm Friday and gave first aid to a 28 year-old man they found collapsed on a front porch from a knife wound to the stomach.
Despite their frantic efforts he died on the way to hospital.
At 1:35pm on Sunday, Burwood police stopped a car on Nipper St, Strathfield and arrested a 26 year-old man.
He was taken to Burwood Police Station before being charged with murder.
The man will appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday.
Earlier, Residents on the street recalled frantic scenes that saw their community locked down.
One neighbour said she heard police telling her: “He’s armed, get inside”.
“It was full on. I heard what sounded like a police chase and then before I knew it there was an ambulance and the street was blocked off.”
Detective Superintendent Scott Bingham said police were not treating the stabbing as a “random attack”, saying the victim was known to the people who were in the house at the time of the attack.
“We believe the man went to the address willingly and something has occurred in the premises … the community doesn’t have any reason to be concerned.”
On Saturday police searched a house in Narcissus Ave and a ute parked close by and searched drains for a murder weapon.
It comes another man is dead and another is fighting for life after two other separate knife attacks within eight hours across NSW.
Just half an hour after the first attack, police in NSW’s west were called to Nymagee St in Narromine where they found a 16-year-old boy with stab wounds to his neck.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Dubbo airport where he died.
Police later arrested a 26-year-old man at a home nearby and on Saturday he was assisting with inquiries at Dubbo Police Station before being charged with murder.
He was refused bail and is due to face Dubbo Local Court on Sunday.
And in Broken Hill a 37-year-old man was stabbed at a property in O’Farrell St at 1pm on Friday.
He was taken to Broken Hill Base Hospital before being transferred to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition.
On Friday night police executed a search warrant on Bowen St, Broken Hill, about 9.05pm and arrested a 29-year-old man.
He was taken to Broken Hill Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Detective Superintendent Scott Bingham said knife crime affects everyone in the community and police would continue to run operations cracking down on people carrying the weapons.
“It is an offence to carry a knife without a lawful reason in a public place,” he said.
