A Sydney woman is terrified that she could be the next woman “stabbed or doused in acid” by her relentless stalker — and frustrated that her calls for help are falling on deaf ears.

‘I fear for my life’: Julia's cyber stalking nightmare

Exclusive: A beauty therapist is terrified that she could be the next woman “stabbed or doused in acid” by a relentless stalker – while her calls for help are falling on deaf ears.

A shaken Julia, who asked that her surname not be revealed, wakes every morning to a barrage of messages from private numbers where her stalker is declaring his love, or calling her names like “whore” and “slut” and telling her he will never stop.

In one chilling message on Thursday morning, he warned he would fly to Australia, saying: “Bitch, you will know who is me”.

“I’ve gone to the NSW police and the AFP and no one can help me,” said the 31-year-old who has a business at Bondi Junction.

“It’s everywhere in the media, that women should be asking for help, reporting frightening behaviour, but no one wants to do anything, no one will help me and I am living a nightmare every day and I am fearing for my life.

“They say call triple-0, well that’s good advice but if the guy knows where I work and live, he will just come and spill acid on me or stab me before I can even turn around.”

Julia’s nightmare began in September when she travelled abroad.

“I was in a very fragile state and I met some people and unfortunately I opened up too much about my life to one person in particular,” she said. “I was in India for three weeks and realised I needed to leave because this guy was too much, he was putting pressure on me, I can’t explain it, it was just getting really weird. I decided to leave and head to Sri Lanka but he said he would follow me there, so I came back to Sydney.

“He didn’t like that.”

Julia said the man, who was Palestinian, from a very strict Muslim family, broke into her email account, hacked her phone and commenced his crusade to bring her “misery”.

“He keeps sending me daily offensive messages and keeps trying to expose me and share my private pictures which he possessed illegally by hacking into my phone somehow,” she said. “He knows where I live. I’m scared that one day he will enter Australia and come to hurt me.

“I’m planning to move apartments for that reason but I can’t change my work address or hide it as I’m self-employed and the location of my business is crucial.”

The stalker posts and deletes reviews on Julia’s business page, makes fake Facebook and Instagram accounts and engages with her friends and family. He even contacts her customers and warns she is a prostitute.

He sends her SMS messages daily and through the night from online portals.

She has changed her phone number twice.

“Every day I receive between five to 10 SMS from the internet or emails or both, he calls my work phone from a private number. I need it on for business, the other night I forgot to turn it off and at 4am he was calling me.

“I had shut down all my social media but in January my friends said they wished me happy birthday on Facebook and I responded … that’s when I realised. He is just obsessed and jealous. He has decided he owns me and I’m worried he has the money and the means to hurt me.

“He’s been in Indonesia and other countries, what’s to stop him coming to my home or my workplace? He is the type of person that would think if he can’t have me, no one can – and I’m terrified of what he will do.”

Every day the emails and messages come in thick and fast. The man is unrelenting.

“I have said please stop contacting me and he will say things like: “I will stop when I f--k you, I know the type of bitch you are’,” she said.

“I have moved house, changed phone numbers but I can’t change my place of work.

“I’m not only worried that he will hurt me but I don’t want to put my friends and family in this situation.

“He has even found my friend in Poland and started communicating with her on her work email. She was frightened to the core about how he even knew where she worked.”

Julia has hundreds if not thousands of screenshots of messages and voice recordings but says neither NSW Police or the AFP will help.

“I’m desperate to find anyone who is willing to help me. I tried to kill myself once already because of this person and in bad moments I considered doing it again.”

Julia said the first time she went to police was at the beginning of February and they said: “Oh no, sorry, he’s not in Australia. We don’t have jurisdiction, we can’t do anything”.

“Then I submitted a few reports to AFP CyberCrime and they emailed me back saying they won’t investigate and they can’t do anything.”

Last Saturday she went to Waverley Police Station.

“This time at least they took my report. I wanted a restraining order. I have so much evidence, copies of messages, voice recordings,” she said.

“I have things that show it’s obvious he is stalking me. I’m afraid for my life but they said they can’t take out a restraining order without talking to him and they wouldn’t call an international number.

“How many more women will die in Australia before the police start doing something?”

Julia’s mum, who lives in Poland, told The Saturday Telegraph the situation had been extremely stressful.

“Julia’s cousins receive messages on Facebook. They realised that it was not Julia who was writing and wanted to report the violation, but they were unsuccessful,” she said.

“It is not known how many more people in Poland receive fake news and whether they accept it at face value.

“I’m very angry, but I can’t even report it to the police because they say that my daughter is an adult and living outside Poland.

“So they can’t do anything in Australia because the perpetrator is outside Australia. I wonder how they know he hasn’t come? And the Polish police can’t do anything because Julia is in Australia.

“Is there anyone who can help us in this situation? I can’t sleep at night as I’m worried for my daughter’s safety.”

“Julia’s older brother committed suicide 11 years ago – I don’t want to lose a second child because of the incompetence of the police and justice system.”

NSW Police said in a statement that officers received a report on April 20 from a 31-year-old woman in relation to online harassment.

“Inquiries revealed the person reportedly involved resides overseas,” the statement said. “Police will continue to liaise with the woman and provide advice on measures to accurately record the harassment and steps to take to ensure her safety online.”

They also encouraged anyone who has experienced domestic or family violence to download and use the Empower You app to record incidents and keep any evidence.

A NSW police officer also reached out to Julia on Friday after being contacted by The Saturday Telegraph.

The AFP was also contacted for comment.
