Two men have been arrested over a drive-by shooting at a Merrylands home overnight, believed to be linked to the Alameddine clan.

NSW Police were called to Bristol St at Merrylands West about 1.40am on Wednesday after receiving reports shots had been fired into a home.

When they arrived they found two people in the home at the time, neither of them injured.

The Daily Telegraph understands the home is known to have associations to the underworld clan that has been involved in a tit-for-tat war.

Within hours of the shooting police had arrested two men, aged in their 20s and 30s. Neither is yet to be charged.

In a statement, a NSW Police spokesman confirmed they believed the shooting was “targeted”.

“Initial inquiries suggest the incident was targeted and the matter has been referred to the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad for further investigation,” the statement read.

“Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
