The owner of a luxury car firebombed for the second time in a week has spoken, saying he has no idea who has targeted his property, but he’d like to know “who the hell it was”.

The shaken owner of a $300,000 Mercedes Benz firebombed twice in a week says he has no idea who would target his family, with the latest attack engulfing part of the house where they were asleep.

Alaa Salameh and his wife were in bed just metres from the front of their Hurstville home on Tuesday morning, when two unknown men doused his high-performance C63 convertible in petrol and set it alight.

Four days earlier, CCTV at the Barnard Ave premises captured the pair trying to torch the car without success.

Just before 1am on Tuesday, they returned and finished off the job.

Standing beside the charred remains of his white convertible, Mr Salameh, who is listed as the director of Tier One Constructions, said he had no idea who would target him once, let alone twice.

“I’d just like to know who the hell it was,” he told The Daily Telegraph.

The father-of-two was woken by loud noises as the windscreen on the vehicle exploded.

He grabbed his wife and kids and moved them to safety, along with his elderly mother who lives at the rear of the home, while fire fighters raced to put out the blaze.

The car was parked in the driveway of the home but the ferocity of the fire spread to the garage door near where it was parked, as well as part of the first storey

NSW Police canvassed the street yesterday collecting CCTV and speaking to witnesses, trying to work out why the Salamehs were targeted.

Mr Salameh said the pair was wearing the same clothing each time they attacked.

“You can see them pretty clearly in it (the CCTV) … I just hope police can get to the bottom of it for us,” he said.

A female relative at the house said the family had several other high-performance cars in the driveway.

“We don’t know why this has happened, like we genuinely have no idea,” the woman said. “But lucky they only destroyed one car, not all of them.”
