Wild new theory on possible fate of Sydney conwoman Melissa Caddick

The mystery of missing conwoman Melissa Caddick will be investigated by an inquest in September.

The long-awaited inquest into her disappearance and suspected death has been set down for the weeks of September 12 and 26 at the NSW Coroner’s Court at Lidcombe, it was revealed on Monday.

Her husband, hairdresser and DJ, Anthony Koletti and her parents Ted and Barbara Grimley are expected to give evidence about her final moments before she was last seen in November 2020 after her Dover Heights mansion was raided by the Australian Federal Police and investigators with the corporate watchdog ASIC.

The only trace of Caddick, 49, has been a foot found in a running shoe, which has been linked through DNA as belonging to her after it was found on isolated Bournda Beach on the NSW south coast, in February last year.

The Federal Court has ruled that Caddick and her company Maliver Pty Ltd had breached corporations law by operating without Australian financial services licences as she swindled $23.5m Caddick swindled from devastated investors through her illegal financial planning business.

Mr Koletti and the Grimleys are fighting to keep their homes which liquidators say were bought with her ill-gotten gains.

There is no suggestion Mr Koletti or the Grimleys had any knowledge of Caddick’s illegal schemes.
