Mark Buddle’s son being raised by second wife Ozge Kavus in Turkey

The Turkish wife of Australian bikie kingpin Mark Buddle has been single-handedly raising their son, who was born while the Comanchero boss was in jail.

The Turkish wife of Australian bikie kingpin Mark Buddle has been single-handedly raising their son — born while Buddle was in jail — and proudly referring to him as “my bodyguard”.

Their son, who bears a striking resemblance to the Comanchero boss she secretly married on April 25, 2022, in a deal he hoped would secure him citizenship, is living on the outskirts of the capital Ankara.

Ozge Kavus, 30, told The Saturday Telegraph: “My family is very precious to me.”

Sources close to the raven-haired administrative worker say she lives in hope that Buddle is cleared of importing huge hauls of cocaine into Australia and they can start life as a family.

“Ozge is young and looks up to Buddle. They were living in the coastal town of Iskele in northern Cyprus where they married and she was pregnant when he was arrested,” a source said.

“She’s hoping he will come out of jail and start life as a family. She adores her son and is very happy to be a mum. He is her world.”

Buddle, 40, spent six years in the Middle East and Europe before he was extradited to Australia from Turkey two years ago – where he was temporarily living – to face charges over the alleged importation of more than 160kg of cocaine into Melbourne, with an estimated street value of $40m.

The drugs were allegedly sent to Melbourne, via Sydney, from Hong Kong in a shipment of air filters.

He faces two charges, each carrying a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The Australian Federal Police allege he managed the shipment using an encrypted app called AN0M, which was created and secretly tapped by their officers and the FBI in America.

Police allege he is also a person of interest in the shooting murder of a Sydney security guard in 2010.

The head of the Comanchero bikie gang was once described as Australia’s most wanted man.

After fleeing Australia, he had spent time in Dubai before settling in northern Cyprus, which does not have an extradition treaty with Australia. He understood if he married a girl from Northern Cyprus for three years he would gain citizenship and could live in the Turkish-controlled part of Cyprus.

He was expelled from the Turkish-controlled territory when his presence was “inconvenient in terms of public peace and security”, the interior ministry said at the time.

His estranged first wife Mel Ter Wisscha, with whom he shares two children, denounced any knowledge of a new spouse, saying: “Ozge who?” when contacted.

Ms Ter Wisscha has been living between northern Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates and Greece since she and Buddle left Australia in 2016.

She regularly posted pictures of herself in a bikini, showing herself enjoying life outside Australia.

Buddle, one of Australia’s richest and most high-profile bikies, had lived in luxury on the Riviera of Cyprus after fleeing Australia in the wake of the AN0M sting in 2021.

He was the subject of an Interpol red notice and deported from Iraq in 2021.
