Man stabbed in car by group in Merrylands, police hunt for attackers

A man has been stabbed while sitting in his car during a violent attack in Merrylands early on Tuesday morning.

A man has been stabbed while sitting in his car during a violent attack in Sydney’s west on Tuesday morning.

Police were called to a carpark on Burnett St in Merrylands shortly before 2am following reports of an assault.

Officers were told that a 23-year-old man was approached by a group of three to five people while sitting in his vehicle and stabbed multiple times.

The attackers fled the scene, and the victim called for help.

He was treated by paramedics for stab wounds to his hand, shoulder, chest, and thigh before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A crime scene has been established, and police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
