A man has been charged with attempted murder and several domestic violence-related offences after a crash that injured a toddler near Woodburn in northern NSW.

Emergency services were called to Avenue Rd in West Bungawalbin — around 30km west of Woodburn — just before 8.45pm on Thursday, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Police arrived to find a car had collided with a pole.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries and taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A 17-month-old girl, who was also in the car, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital.

Following investigations by Strike Force Haynes, officers arrested the man shortly before 3.15pm on Sunday after his release from hospital.

He was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with attempted murder (domestic violence-related), causing bodily harm by wilful neglect, being in charge of a motor vehicle, two counts of contravening an apprehended violence order (AVO) and stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear or physical harm.

The man was refused bail and is set to appear in Bail Division Court 1 on Monday.
